Bsa

Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA or "Fraction V") is a serum albumin protein generated from bovine blood. It is commonly used as a protein concentration standard in laboratory research. The BSA protein is purified and fractionated using a heat-shock method, then extensively diafiltered and ion-exchanged to remove other plasma proteins, lipids, and extraneous ions.

BSA Protease Free (BSA FAF) is especially useful for applications involving protease-sensitive protein components.

BSA protein has a wide range of biochemical uses, including ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), immunoblots, and immunohistochemistry. In addition, it is employed as a cell growth supplement and stabilizer in cell and microbiological cultures.
